I have taken a contract with MTN Pavilion, shop 170 171A, Westville on the 05/12/2012. I called MTN towards the end of August this year to report my laptop needed booting and crashed. They advised me that its under the 1 year warranty with ACER and that I would need to call them to book it in for repairs. After finally getting my unit booked in for repairs, I was told that after less than 9 months, the hardrive needed to be replaced. Received my unit a week later, set it up again the same day, whilst trading on the stock market, pc crashes again, resulting in me losing a couple of hundreds of rands, since I could not close my trade. I called ACER the next day and they were going to repair the unit again. I was then advised that they would pass a credit note and the store would have to re-imburse me with an equivalent unit or re-imburse me, after a week & a half.
I was then told that this whole charade would take 24 hours. Soke to numerous consultants over the period of a week and a half. To wrap up, its been almost 2 months, no laptop, promised un-materialised call backs and a VERY OFF CLIENT!!! The store as well as ACER, up until today push blame, on each other :(
