Can i get a sim swop please

I wasted a good afternoon yesterday just trying to get a sim swop and i am still not connected. I started at their store, then i was told they couldn't pick up my number from the system and even if they did i would need to remember five numbers i call more often, i mean who remembers five numbers. IF i had known my phone was going to get before, i would have written my last dialled numbers down... but you don't get warning before your phone is and now you DONT have a phone, so you cant look for those numbers or call people to tell you.
Vodacom should have user information, when a sim is registered they take your ID and proof of address, why shouldn't that be enough to verify that its your number if you loose your phone? Why must i get an affidavit now, and waste another afternoon of my life looking for a police station, what the

Then they send me to Nashua Mobile because they cant find me in their system, i reach Nashua Mobile, they cant help me because my number is now pre-paid and no longer contract. So i am basically stuck now, without a phone and i cant do a sim swop, does this make sense to anyone? because it doesn't make sense to me.
