I lost my prepaid MTN phone with number 0737832420 and the sim card which was in the phone. I bought a new phone and a new sim card. I want to do a sim swop in order to have my old number. I phoned the call centre twice. There were a few security questions, which I understand the reason of. I am able to answer some of them those questions, but there are others which I am unable to answer. I don't know on which prepaid plan I am on. I am not even aware that there are different prepaid plans. The next question was what were the last amounts of airtime which I bought. That I knew and I gave them the correct answer. The next question was which numbers have I dialled from the phone. I don't memorise numbers because I store numbers on the phone, which is lost. With difficulty I obtained some of the numbers which I have dialled. The information which I gave the people in the call centre is more than sufficient to identify me. Just because I don't know every question, they refuse to do a swim swop. Both my old sim card and my new sim card went through the RICA process. One requirement for the RICA process is that a person is obliged to produce identity documents.
