Telkom and Contractor Screws Up

We move our line from Paarl to Stellenryk. 2 Aug: Contractor Chris from Fortell Investment, Durban based company comes to do the work. Chris explained that the port in the house where we want it, doesn't work and he will have to redo everything. I explain that as it is a rental house, I need to obtain approval for the glue, etc. first, that although it is urgent, whether he will be able to return the following week. He agrees.
HE NEVER RETURNS after many calls and texts. After a month we contact Telkom, who explains we need to report a fault. 14-Sep an technician comes out. He explains that Chris never had approval to fix a new outside line to the one port in the corner of the house, which he just left as is. He also says: Telkom says it is between us and the contractor - the contractor says it is between us and Chris - Chris doesn't answer our calls. So I'm left with a mess in the corner of our house, faulty adsl signal and having to use an extension cable, that is dangerous to have wireless OR, I can pay R400 for a call out and R60/m for an additional port, because Chris installed a port with approval. REALLY TELKOM - REALLY?!
