On the 6th of December 2012 I went to MTN Richards Bay to upgrade my cell phone contract. A consultant who was serving me gave me a catalogue containing various brands of cell phones. I asked her for advice regarding the right phone to choose amongst the phones on offer and her response was that one can never go wrong with a Blackberry and since my previous phone was a Blackberry I should upgrade with another Blackberry because it comes with BIS that allowes a subscriber to browse the internet without losing their air time. I took this as a noble advice and also being a former Blackberry user with MTN I agreed with her and colleague in the next cubicle supported her. After perusing through the catalogue I took the ladies' advice and upgraded with a Blackberry 9900.
After getting my Blackberry 9900 I used it like its predecessor to browse the internet. Things started to change then with my new phone. BIS was taking my airtime and in a single day I lost R107.00 just by surfing the internet alone. I went to MTN Richards Bay to present my case to Gail Morell the Store Manager and according to her BIS doesn't take airtime from subscribers so there was something wrong.
