Blackberry bold 9900 dies after one yea

I purchased this blackberry bold 9900 exactly a year ago and payed R7000 for this phone, it is an expensive phone recently the phone died and would not turn on I took it in for repairs an was told nothing could be done about it I have searched on the internet and found countless letters all saying the same this after upgrading to the suggested software their phones after a while died, would not boot up again and when trying to charge the phone the red light woulld come on.

I think that for the price I paid for this phone it should well last more than a year
if this is a general problem with the phone why has blackberry not stepped in to do something about it
why do they not assist their customers but rather shrugg their shoulders
These phones should have been recalled long ago if this was a genral fault with the phone

Blackberry dsoes not even respond to their client complaints well I know know for certain i will never purchase a blackberry product ever again they seem to be extreemly expensive, especially for the quallity we are getting.

I want a product that is good quality with great customer service, I want to deal with a company that is trust worthy
