How long please assist

Since 2009 that i took a contract phone with mtn and my sim card was closed because i owed them i paid it up but everytime i went to their stores they told me they cannot assist because my account was with the legal department and they cannot reacivated my sim card since then around July. ASugust 2009 i think, no statements were sent from mtn no phone calls from them telling me i owe them... until 2010 i laid a compalin with their com[plain site () which of after a while i got response saying i owe around R1000 and something ..i even asked them how do i get to pay that mon ey where do i go but no response when you go their outlet they teel you they cannot assist because it a conatract phone .until i approached a company assistinmg with credit clearance and the contact mtn and then all of a sudden i am getting sms to pay immediatelty the amount of over R5000, if i did not approach that company how would they have notified me because when you sign a contract yor whole information is the the adress, work number .why has mtn failed to do so... until today i have not received any statement from mtn regarding my account and how i occured so much errears they also honou
