I had a loan with Absa & the account was paid up in either 2009 or 2010. I recently applied for credit with Capitec Bank & was informed that my profile reflects an outstanding amount of R700 on the Absa loan I once had. I then approached Absa with the matter as Capitec needs a letter or statement as proof that the loan was paid off. However upon my interaction with Absa they informed me that their database does not reflect any of my information about the loan and I find that rather odd because I had a loan with them once before. This means that I have a problem with getting credit from Capitec and this frustrates me because Absa is not willing to assist me in getting to the bottom of this.
I went to two different branches but didn't get any positive response. Please assist as I am at wits end.
