BEWARE VIRGIN MOBILE!!! Contract cancellations

We signed up with Virgin Mobile, for 24 months, just before the expiry we were called to extend our contract, we indicated that we want our contracts to be cancelled, and this was indicated as being done. Subsequently we received numerous calls regarding our contract, and each time we indicated that our contracts should have been cancelled, eventually 2 months after the contracts expired we spoke to the cancellations department who "confirmed" the conteracts were cancelled. After this issue we are still plaqued by the accounts department trying to tell us our accounts are active. I was told today after I told them we sent an email that emails were not acted on, and after this I told them to go back to their recorded calls and take a listen, I was told outgoing calls do not count in any way, you have to phone us to cancell the contracts. Each month they try and debit our account and this has built up R1500 rands worth of bank charges due to the debits failing as the account is no longer used.

Initially I would have reccomended Virgin to anyone, but after this little episode I would rather tell everyone to rather use a different service provider lik 8-ta or mtn or one of the othe
