Approximately one month after my MTN cell phone bill increased, I received an sms saying I am subscribed to Zuma Mobile's Extreme TV VIDEO service. Cost R5 per/day.
I DID NOT subscribe to this service and upon querying this with MTN I was told "I had subscribed to InteGrat and registration for content charges are voluntary. Content providers charge MTN for content I (allegedly) purchase and MTN (willy nilly) pass the charges onto me. For proof of subscription and cancellation, I must contact the content provider for assistance." Input in brackets added by me!
Does MTN willy nilly charge me for payments MTN willy nilly make on my behalf without either pre-authorisation or proof of my subscription and then fail to take responsibility to either resolve the issue or provide a refund??
I note a number of folk claim likewise and have had difficulty unsubscribing. Please advise how to successfully terminate this subscription with immediate effect and claim a refund from the guilty parties??
I demand a full refund from MTN and require that procedures be put in place to prevent this type of criminal practice from being the modus operandi of MTN.
