I went in to the century city vodacom outlet to prematurely cancel my contract, which cost R800. I recieved an sms stating that my number would be transferred to prepaid on 4/09, which never happened. After speaking to the call centre I was told to contact the cancellation department- it either takes 30 min to answer the call, or the call gets rejected half way thru. I was told by the cancellation department to switch the phone off for 24 hours in order for the transfer to happen - this was done but still no transfer. They are quick enough to open a contract but it is virtually impossible to get service when cancelling one. Due to such poor service I will never open a contract with vodacom again, nor will I ever reccomend that anyone of my family do.
