I decided finally to change my service provider after being with Vodacom for many years. What a huge mistake.. I was informed that Cell C and Vodacom have a 'deal' of sorts allowing Cell C to 'piggyback' off Vodacom towers, so therefore if I have good Vodacom data coverage where I live I will have decent Cell C coverage. This is not the case, in areas where I have BRILLIANT data coverage with Vodacom I have NONE with Cell C. I mean NONE, to the point where I can not even use simple apps such as Whatsapp. Not only this, but also when I do have good coverage (H Internet connection) it is still massively slower than the connection I had with Vodacom, infact I use my old phone tethering a hot spot via Vodacom to connect to with my Cell C device, because doing this my ping in games is drastically lower (200-300ms lower) and downloads are far faster (20-40kbs faster). It disapoints me that Cell C coverage is so pathetic that there is no point in me having a smart phone, and it's annoying that I can't use my allocated data in my contract, it mostly goes to waste. Even more annoying is the amount of extra money I have to spend (on data for my Vodacom device) just to use my Cell C device...
