Cellphone contract opened using my ID and Name

I received an SMS on the 20th Aug 2013 giving my full name and Surname requesting me to pay an amount outstanding to ABSA in terms of Telkom Mobi. This SMS was sent to my Cell that is already contracted to another Mobile Co. I received the same SMS 2 days later, and went into the Glen Shopping Centre and spoke to Jento at the Telkom branch. He showed me how easy it was to obtain anyone's credit report on the internet using the credit check facility which only costs R25. With this report you are able to open an account for a contract and open a Bank account to fund this. When you close the Bank account, and the cell phone is discontinued - that's when the original customer is alerted. I phoned a number that is on the 8ta Website - Whistle Blower - 0800 124 000 - there they do not identify themselves (as if they are the one's who's identity is being compromised). They ask all these questions about the account that was opened, which I do not know, neither do they have access to 8ta's account information. I had to phone 8ta for the 4th time to obtain the cell phone number (which has been discontinued) and the account number, and phone back to the Whistle Blower with this information.
