Incorrect ID number used on account

I recently requested my credit report and found an entry for Telkom. When I queried this, I was advised that I had an account but was not in my name or contact number or address.

I have had several communications with them on the phone and over email but they refuse to take my ID number off the account until the outstanding amount is paid.

I have never had a Telkom account, I have not signed a contract or agreed verbally over the phone however, I am being held responsible for an error on Telkom's systems.

No one is willing to help me and I think its time to take this matter legal.
