Since I changed to Telkom internet in June 2013, the ADSL line has never worked properly. Either I continually lose the connection- 3x in 10 minutes is normal- or the speed is so slow that connections time out. I have a 2Mb line but it never reaches near that speed.
The problem has been repeatedly reported to Telkom. They did the supply and installation but their technician later told me I needed a Pots filter- which I then had to buy and install myself. That didn't work. Another technician later told me the D-link modem was too far away from the computer- remember, they installed it! I tried to put in an extension lead and lost the connection entirely. The matter has been repeatedly reported to Telkom, and twice escalated through supervisors. Nothing has happened and today I am told that it may take 6 (more) working days- despite the fact that I use the connection for business.
In addition, I declared a dispute over Telkom's account, and refused to pay. They cut my service thereby forcing me to pay the full invoice amount.
Never, never choose Telkom as a service provider.
