My handbag was containing my Blackberry Bold 9900. Since I had a second Blackberry through the company by whom I was employed, I did not immediately claim against MTN Insurance. I did however blacklist the phone and did a sim swop. I have been using this sim card in my daughters old Motorola as am now unemployed and had to return the company Blackberry.
I went to a great deal of effort to get all the necessary paperwork, affidavits and case number etc which I submitted at MTN Bayside, Tableview. The staff Bayside were incredibly helpful and could not apologise enough that their insurance department was taking so long. After messing me around for 3 WEEKS, I finally managed to speak to someone at MTN insurance thanks to the helpful Bayside staff- Only to be told that my claim is NOT approved because I did not submit the paperwork in time.
I've been an MTN customer for 10 YEARS on a top package and have never once made a claim. MTN has no qualms about relieving me of almost R1700 every month, but refuses to replace my handset. I have a credit of R7000 on that account which I am unable to utilise without a Blackberry. So much for being a loyal and VALUED client
