I'd had this MTN number for years before I got a Top-Up contract on the number. I recently found myself unemployed and needed to cancel the account and revert back to pre-paid. I was advised to send an cancellation email, unfortunately I was not aware that requesting to cancel the contract would also cancel my number. Needless to say I was heartbroken when my sim-card went blank and I first called the call centre, which as usual did not pick up and after a few more calls someone picked up and was unhelpful to say the least. The next day I went to the Bluff MTN to enquire. I met a lady who was abrupt and short, rude and made no effort to help me. I went back a few days later and met Thrishan who was courteous and helpful. I left feeling very good and he helped me follow up on the matter until we received response 2wks later. Even though the matter wasn't solved because MTN claims that there is an outstanding amount on the top-up contract which makes no sense as monthly payments were made automatically via debit order. I've decided to drop the number and MTN. Despite the poor service from almost all MTN consultants and call centre agents, I still feel very impressed with Thrishan.
