Telkom 3 month free internet trial

In June 2012 we signed up for the Telkom 3 month free internet trial, which was a fantastic opportunity to experience internet at home and to determine whether it would be worthwhile.

Before the end of the 3rd month we cancelled the offer, this was done in writing and via the opt out function on their website as after 15 phone calls we were unable to get through to anyone able to assist us, I was constantly cut off.

We then proceeded to fight for 3 months with the Telkom lawyers as we were billed for the full 3 months, we sent through the screen shot of the cancelled opt out that was done on the website. The lawyers finally accepted that we were not at fault and would rectify it with Telkom.

I presumed this would have been done. Now yesterday I attempt to activate my phone line and am told that I owe R900.

I never received any bill or any notice that payment was needed, apparently it was mailed each month, but I can assure you it was not received or else I would have been fighting again with Telkoms lawyers to have this resolved.

This has become a complete nightmare and Telkom has turned their generous gesture into a terrible experience for myself.
