First of all, I requested email itemised billing a year ago and I have not been receiving these until I call each month.
Then last month, I received a whooping R 11077.34 bill of which R 7214.84 was allegedly for roaming. This is impossible because I have always turned off data and phone roaming whilst abroad, and I always turned on the WIFI icon. Now unless MTN is falsely charging me for WIFI, I do not understand the bill therefore I demand that the entire roaming charges from May to July.
This caused a financial strain for the month as I use a direct debit facility, which I will be instructing my bank to discontinue, as I do not trust MTN's billing facility, coupled with the fact that I don't receive my itemised billing. One has to wonder what else is going on behind the scenes that I am not aware of
I went to the MTN offices yesterday (August 4) to lodge a complaint and was informed it will take up to 21 days, ironic because it takes about 21 seconds to take false money from my account. I demand MTN accountability on this, and I am made to be aware that this is now a standard practice - overbilling clients
I was also given a Reference Number: 2487793
MTN must be exposed
