Contract Cancellation Issues

To Whom It May Concern.

I have had a two cell phone contracts with Virgin Mobile for the last 4 years, my contracts have now come to an end and as per normal I phoned Virgin to cancel the contracts yesterday to give them the 30days notice period as my contract was taken out on the 2/9/2011.

I spoke to a lady who was not helpful at all, I confrimed with her when my last instalment would be and I was told it would be on the 1/11/2013, 3 months after my contract had been cancelled. I asked her to explain this and she said I was billed in arears, I said I could understand this for one month but for three months this was unacceptable. I have not heard of any other mobile supplier taking 3 months to cancel a cell phone contract before. Even if you are billed in arears its normally only a month.

My word of advice for any one looking for a new cell phone supplier is never to use, and I repeat never to use Virgin Mobile as a supplier. I lived in th UK for ten years and had a contract with them for 10 years and never had 1 days issue with them but here in South Africa I recommend you stay clear from using them.
