Make sure of the fine print

In June 2013 I took out the Samsung S4 contract at MTN. The advert says that the R399.00 you pay per month includes: 200MB data, R200 airtime and 200 smses. What they do not tell you is that of the 200 smses, only 25 are to other networks and the other 175 are MTN to MTN only. The person that helped me with taking out the contract was in such a rush to get me signed that when I asked her about what the terms and conditions, she didn't explain to me about the smses. I can't check my airtime, I have dialled 808, 258, *141#, *141*1# and the only info I get is how much my balance is, which is also misinforming because one day its "x" amount and the next it's "y". When I went to the branch, I waited for 45 minutes for help and then I had to leave to go back to work.
I also received my account at the end of the month with an added amount of R163.00 which I wasn't told about. I dread going back because the customer service is very poor and unprofessional.
