I purchased an ADSL "Billion" router from Mweb Centurion for R650 which after about 1 month packed up and was confirmed by Mweb technical as faulty. At Mweb centurion I handed my faulty router in requesting an exchange. I decided to rather go for the "Netgear" router whichwas valued at R999. I was told that I had to purchase the second one outright which I did. i handed the faulty router in and was told that once it was confirmed as faulty, I would be refunded. This fact I could not understand as it had already been confirmed as faulty by their technical dept. After a period of no feedback, i queried and was told that I could collect a new "Billion" router from Mweb. i stated that this was not as advised and what am I supposed to do with 2 routers. I have ended up paying R1650 for routers which is unnacceptable. The irony was that I was supposed to leave the faulty router and wait for confirmation with no access to the internet while I was paying for the service. in my opinion, this is also contravenes the consumer protection act and demand this issue be attended to by Mweb.
