Vodacom
Unethical Practice

On 5 July 2013 I requested to have my Vodacom contract converted to a prepaid number. I was advised that it would be converted on 31 July 2013.

On 9 July 2013 someone from Vodacom Rewards called to ask why I cancelled my contract and sold me a new contract. The new contract was supposed to start on 1 August 2013.

On 25 July 2013 I called Vodacom Cancellation to reverse the new contract and I was advised that I was supposed to cancel within 14 days so they cannot help me. They sent me to Customer Care, who told me that I must speak to Legal, who told me that they cannot help and I must speak to Cancellation.

I spoke to Cancellation and told them that I was never sent a copy of the new contract, and I was not told over the phone that I have 14 days to reverse the contract. I was told that I would have to obtain a recording from Sales to check whether the terms were read to me.

I spoke Sales, who sent me to Customer Care, who referred me back to Legal, who referred me back to Vodacom Rewards who could not help me.

I've asked for a number for the complaints department, and was told none exists. Contract starts 1 August and cant be reversed before it starts?
