In June 2013, I went to Vodaworld in Midrand to cancel one of my data contract as I had two of these. The contract I wanted to cancel attached to telephone number 082 312 8766. I also need to transfer my email address from this contract to the remaining contract, 082 811 0569.
I was asked to sign various documents which I did. I was accompanied by witnesses who, if necessary, could testify to this.
The transfer of the email took place and I assumed that the cancellation of the contract had also taken place.
When I got my statement in July, I noticed that the amount was still being debited.
I called their cancellation dept who advised me that I could not cancel at Vodaworld and that I should have called them direct. I told them that I hadn't been told this and that I had signed papers and I expected Vodacom to cancel from the date I visited Vodaworld.
The person told me they would get back to me which they did not do. When I called again in August, I was told that the cancellation would take place at the end of August some two months later.
I am not happy about this.
