Forcing us to take a contractOn 21

On 21 May, my partner applied for a tablet contract, that same day we decided to cancel it due to affordability and having our lines cut on a monthly basis due to non payment. Notified the branch in writing the same day to stop contract which one can within 7 days. Was there to return it and they didn't want to take it back in sealed packaging etc. Shaun kept passing the buck past the 7 days, eventually returned tablet in original box etc like we tried on the first day, 2 months later now they say they refuse to cancel it and we must collect it from the branch, i took all necessary steps and due to their lack of feedback and action now sit with one of a problem. I will not accept this as I opted out the same day, will not be forced to take something I asked to have cancelled within the period I could. Urgently need this rectified as we are being treated unfair, we followed the right steps and have proof. In the correspondence I have there is a clear view of lack of feedback and help. How can a service provider anyway grant a contract to an existing client that fails to pay his monthly bills with them and have lines cut on a monthly basis? Please urgently help, its frustrating!
