Got the contract, oops no you don't, but pls pay!

We upgraded from a Cell C Casual Chat package to a Cell C 2GB data package last week. Noleen at the Autopage Northgate store assisted us and ensured us that, even though this was an early upgrade, the data package would kick in on 10 July 2013. After a lot of hassle, fights and a devil-may-care attitude by the in-store staff at Northgate the data was activated, 5 days after starting to pay for it.

Today, 17 July 2013, I got a call from Noleen to tell me that Cell C never does the upgrade from a voice package to data package. Noleen kept on blabbering about the dates (24 vs 28 months) and that it was my mistake for using the contract and upgrading from a Cell C voice to a Cell C data package. I asked to speak to the owner, but, as usual, he was out and would call me back within the next few working days. I did ask about the costs of the data usage for the last 2 days, but according to Noleen that is for my bill as I should have contacted Cell C to confirm the upgrade, done at Autopage, from voice to data.

Autopage, why am I paying for a service I can't use? Why does your store expect me to call Cell C for detail? Why does feedback take "5-10 working days" but I need to pay???
