Upgrade not explained / Data bundle not activated

After various complaints (on HelloPeter and with Autopage) I eventually got my new phone on my upgrade.
Previously I used a Blackberry. I now upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini.
To my surprise, I was only told a couple of days after I got the phone and I queried whether my BIS was stopped, etc. that I cannot yet use the package for which I signed for with the Samsung (including 250mb data). That I will still be billed for the next two months for the old package, and only thereafter the new package will be valid.
What is the use of upgrading then before the 24 months expired? And why wasn't I informed of this with the upgrade? I would have then rather waited for my 24 month contract period on the Blackberry to complete.
Jason Stoltz said on 2013/03/26 that he was going to add a once-off 100 mb for the amount of R80. I phoned twice yesterday as well as this morning because it was not activated yet - everytime being told that I should give it two hours, switch off my phone and then it will be on.
I again phoned now, being told that that data bundle does not exist anymore. The lady said that she was going to add the 75 mb data.
Really pathetic service!!!
