My mother who is 87 years old purchased a pay as you go sim approx. 18 months ago in Port Alfred. While here in Jhb visiting us she put a R110-00 voucher into the phone. It lasted 2 phone calls. The screen on her phone stated that 'Sim registration failed' I phoned Vodacom 111 to check. I am told that her number is now registered to another Sim card. They are supposed to let me have a reference number for the complaint, I am still waiting. They also told me to go and buy another Sim! In the interim she had put another R110-00 into her phone, which obviously went to the OTHER holder of her pay as you go number! Vodacom actually owes her R220-00 in vouchers and another FREE sim card. The fact that this Sim has been /cloned etc etc did not seem to worry the Vodacom call center agent or her supervisor. I still have the useless pay as you go sim in my possession.
