Non communication and non delivery of goods

A while ago my wife was contacted by Vodacom direct to upgrade our contracts at reduced rates. this she promptly did for 2 phoneline and a data package. The order number was U503953 and was done on the 1 July 2013. She then also order a new Nokia Lumia510 with this and supplied the delivery address to the consultatnt. On the 9 July 2013 i contacted the call centre and enquired as to why the phone had not been delivered yet. The consultatnt said that it would be delivered on thursday 11 July 2013. I arranged to be at home in the afternoon as there would be nobody there due to a funeral. well the only person that made a delivery that day was the postman and not RAM or Vodacom. Late that afternoon i contacted vodacom call center again and asked the consultant why the delivery did not take place and i was told that there is no stock of the phone. Could this not have been communicated to me when the contract was extended or when i contacted the call centre. I would like an answer as to when vodacom is going to deliver the phone or they can cancel the contract. it seems that many people are sitting with the same problem and are complaining about it. what is happening to Vodacom?
