Telkom
Service - what service?

For the last week we have been trying to transfer a phone line for my mother from one location to another in the same address.
My mother is 89 and at times quite confused so my sister phoned to organise it. But as she isn't the account holder she was told it was not possible. On saying that she could quite easily say she was my mother the "service" clerk told her that they would suspend the line. She was then informed that the only way to do this is to go to a Telkom shop.
As instructed by the call centre clerk we went to the Musgrave shop the following day with a letter from my mother and a copy of her ID where we were informed by a clerk (another with bad "service"attitude) that it had to be done online!!!
I then attempted to do it - and failed. The contact page has an obsolete contact number (10219) and won't accept telephone numbers in international format!!! As the "service" centre only works during the week (which is ridiculous in this day and age) I sent an email.
This turned out to be another waste of time and effort as to date I have no reply!!
