No charging... My fault???

I got my Blackberry on 29/05/2012 and took it in for repairs on 14/06/2013. It is not charging when i plug in the charger to the phone. So I waited for a few weeks, only for them to call me and tell me they can't repair my phone because I intentionally broke it!!! Can someone please tell me why someone in their right mind would do that? I need answers and quick also!!! Cell C is going to fix that phone or replace it with a new one for sure!!!
