I bought a generic charger for my S3 from the MTN shop in the Dihlabeng Mall, Bethlehem which did not work properly from day 1. I took it back 10 days later after much research, fault finding determining if it was my phone or the charger. I finally determined that the charger and/or cable were at fault as the charging current was too low and therefore charging very slowly.
On returning the charger, a woman came from the back (presume the manager) and plugged the charger into a Blackberry and smugly showed me it was 'working'. When I asked her what the charging current was, she said she didn't know, but can see it is 'working'. I explained to her that I am an Electrical Engineer, and have a pretty good understanding of where the fault, and could she just replace the charger. Her answer: "Well I'm a bio-biokineticist..."
She asked for my phone, plugged the charger in partially and it showed 'charging' but at a very low current. With the plug pushed all the way in, it would not charge. This she still insisted is a 'working' state. When I questioned her deduction, she got all snotty with me and replaced only the cable under duress.
Never been so insulted by a shop assistant.
