3G External IP not accesable

I've got the MTN Sh@relink B683 router about 2 month ago. The main reason why I bought this was that this is a always on service, or always connected to 3G data network. That is working fine, and I do not have a problem accessing the internet, although, I'm not able to access the external IP address of the router. This is the main reason why I bought this. I've got a few services at home that I need to be able to access from anywhere in the world.

I've contacted the call center countless times, as well as 1555 (data support), and they telling me a different story every time. First I had to be provisioned on unrestricted APN, that made no difference, then they needed to active VPN for me. With every call, the person is very busy and typing vigorously, "making changes". Every time a change is made, I have to wait 48hours to take affect. To date, it is not working and I'm still NOT able to access the external IP address.

I'm very unhappy with the support and the product, as this is not working as advertised.
