DISHONESTY IS THEIR MOTTO

I received a call last week from "Vodacom Upgrades" and since I know I am due for an upgrade, I took the call. After half an hour of fending off VAS additions, we were close to completing the call. What set the alarm bells off was when he asked for my banking details. Fortunately, being rather distrustful, I said he should read my banking details to me and I will confirm since there is an existing debit order for my Vodacom contract. He could not and gave me their banking details instead. (That is how I finally realised I was not actually dealing with Vodacom at all but with Elite Mobile). A short while after the phone call ended I received an sms stating that my new e-mail account has been set up, one of the VAS I specifically declined. I phoned to cancel it. When I remembered a few days later I still had to pay the R150 delivery fee for my new handset and looked again at the banking details the penny dropped. I immediately cancelled the order with Elite Mobile and tried to place the order with Vodacom. One week later I am still struggling to get the order with Elite Mobile cancelled and am still unable to upgrade through Vodacom. BE VERY CAREFUL OF THEM!
