Never received product but want to charge me

I applied for a data contract, MTN 2GB, on Sat 1 June with Nashua Mobile. Was promised to receive the modem and sim card and be connected by Wednes 5 June and that did not happen. I sent an email on Fri the 7th and got no response. Sent another email on Monday the 10th to inform them that cos they delayed to provide me with the promised products and service, I no longer need them the modem and sim and hence I was cancelling the contract with them. Now they say I will be liable for early termination fees. How can I be charged these fees if:
1. I was promised the modem and sim card at a date I was promised, Wednes 5 June. Nashua Mobile is in breach of this. No one from Nashua Mobile told me to go collect the modem and sim card. I sent an email on the 7th enquiring about this but got no response.
2. Only on 13 June I get told that the modem was at Vodaworld, this is 3 days after I wrote an email informing you that I am no longer interested in your contract.
3. I have not collected/received the modem and sim card, not signed as proof of receiving the products and obviously not opened or used the products I applied for.
