I called the call center to upgrade and requested the 500MB data bundle, I was quoted an amount of 70 odd rand. Upon receiving my statement I see that I was billed twice for the bundle (99 and 79). I am told the 79 is a pro rata, but I was not asked or informed if I wanted it activated immediately, and therefore did not consent to the immediate activation. Then the matter of the pricing, I was not quoted 99 in the call. I have escalated with the call center but they refuse to release the call recording to me, despite my right to access this information, as it is a legally binding contract between myself and Vodacom. Call center has been ducking and diving on both issues and seems to treat the customers with contempt - when the fault is 100% on their side! I should pay the amount quoted to me in the phone call as this is legally binding.
