I received my new iPhone5 upgrade on 17 January and renewed my Vodacom contract. Boy am I sorry! Firstly the phone was provided (after first attempting to fob me off with an iPhone 4) without a nano sim card. Vodacom is well aware that my current phone is a Blackberry and the sim card sizes are different. When I called the Norwood branch where I received the phone, they said they did not have stock of sim cards! I then obtained a sim card from Sandton Vodashop in Mandela Square, and was promised that the card would be activated within 24 hours. That was on Thursday. I called on Friday afternoon and was promised that the card would be active within an hour or so. Nothing! Today, Saturday 19 January, Sandi at Vodashop (after 2 calls) told me "head office" can't confirm when the card will be activated "because it is hectic". Totally pathetic.
