My phones were on Saturday. Dealing with Vodacom was a pleasure&I managed to block my phone same day on the phone&pick up my sim card without any hassles.
The MTN number was either repeatedly engaged or no-one was answering so I took time off work to go there personally.
The satellite branch was useless - after waiting in line for over 20mins - they couldnt even find my account details on the system! For a contract phone! They referred to the other MTN shop inside the Checkers.
Again another 30mins later I was helped by the most unprofessional consultant who was slouching on the counter and took another 30mins to do a simple sim swop!
Blocking my phone is turning out to be another mission. MTN cannot block a phone they issued me with without an IMEI number (which you find on the phone, the phone really!!!)or on the box.
When I explained to this man that I dont have the box as I got my phone over a year ago- couldnt they just check on the system since they issued it to me - he replied NO I MUST CALL THEM MYSELF.I can only imagine how they would have verified the phone if it needed to be fixed
Last insult the MTN sim card costs R140 vs vodacom sim cards R60
