I recommended that my colleague get a contract line from MTN .In our company uniform I led him to The MTN store and we were greeted by 4 African male staff seated around a tall silver round table in the store eating apples and chatting away. A minute into the small store having identified a handset within the Yello pamphlet, I remarked that business must be good to which one answered, "so-so". We tried to get their attention and they were clearly uninterested.
On leaving the MTN store I told the guys that I have 3 lines with MTN, 1 which still needed to be upgraded as of 1 June 2013, and that my colleague required 2 new contracts but due to their attitude we would take our business elsewhere, one of them sarcastically answered "Sorry boss it Happens". My colleague opened 2 new vodacom contracts today and I am embarrassed to have recommended this MTN store. As we left a Caucasian gentleman walked in and was immediately attended to. Interesting!
Money knows no race, no social status but since it matters to them I am a Sales Manager and I am shocked by this apathy and appalling same race discrimination.
I love MTN but I hate the attitude that I was a victim of.
