I contacted Vodacom over a year ago to ask them to investigate why my home/suburb has such poor cell reception. They admitted that they were aware of the matter and that they were investigating the opportunity to erect a cell tower in the vicinity. An sms followed a few days later requesting us to be patient. After more than 5 calls (over the past 12 months) to their customer service line, speaking to people in their walk-in centres and even having a technician visit the house we still get an sms every 2 or 3 months saying "we are in the process of sourcing a location for a new cell tower. Please be patient".
Initially we were told that this process would take up to three months - this we could manage. The comments from the next couple of calls suggested that this process can take years to finalise. We have requested that a signal booster be placed in the house to which they stated that this would not be possible as a tower was scheduled for the area. I have lived with SHOCKING reception for over a year and am not happy with the way this matter has been addressed. I am no longer prepared to pay for a service which I am not getting!
