Open landline fault

For the last few weeks I noticed a very noisy landline. About a week ago I searched internet and found an online fault reporting website for Telkom. The callback was extremely fast (I am assuming it was Telkom) but due to the bad line could not hear anything. I received a reference number via email. I had also tried to contact fault reporting via my vodacom mobile with no success (number does not exist aka voice) I then had to resort to go to my neighbours and phone from there to report the fault, and was told it is an open landline fault and it would be repaired.
I explicitly told the lady that I work nightduty and it is essential that I be called before any visit. This morning 07h30 my domestic was here, I was in shower. My husband called home to say he had just received a call from Telkom saying that no one was home, he had rung the bell with no response. NO pre call was made to make appointment. I need my phone fixed asap please. Can you help?
At all times when I am daytime asleep due to shift working, my husband can be called at 0827073966 (Mr Paulsen) to arrange a suitable time.
