3 days and my sim is not activated

I recently upgraded my phone, and received a new micro sim used by my new phone. I followed the cell c instuctions, waited for the 24 hours after I received the phone for the "automatic activation" - did not happen. A day later I phoned their upgrade call center, who said it'll be done within 24hours after the call - did not happen. Phoned again a day later, where the story now changed to "it's actually 48 hours". This is going nowhere fast! Really, how difficult can it be to activate a sim?
