Good morning,

I've become very dishearterned by MTN and it's admin and customer service.

On the 15th May 2013 I upgraded after the required 24 month contract from my Blackberry to a new iPhone on a new Anytime 200 contract.

Problem 1:
After the upgrade, I was told to wait 2-24h for the new SIM card to be active. After waiting for the required 24 hours, I placed a number of calls to MTNSP to try activate the card. Several consultants told me to either wait or forwarded me to an automated activation number which hung up on me.
Some of the consultants were surprised that I still had an active BIS for my blackberry and cancelled it (the service agent at Morningside apparently did not do this).

After them writing an email to "Bassie" at Mornindside MTN direct, my iPhone SIM became active.

Problem 2:
On checking my balances and package information on the 808 automated service, I found out that I did not yet have my 350MB data package and was using data out of bundle.
On phoning one of the data consultants, I was told that my new data and voice bundles would only begin on the 21st May 2013.

Why was I not informed of this at upgrade?
