In November 2011 I applied to migrate a pay as you go to a contract phone. I first tried with Autopage, but was not happy with the handset and cancelled the contract.
I went to the Rosebank Mtn Shop to convert to a contract. The shop assistance was good and in no time I walked out with a new Blackberry Bold and the promise that activation would take place within 24 hours.
In spite of no service Mtn started deducting R530 from my account.
I went back 4 times in 3 weeks and still no activativation only promises that it would happen. In January and February I tried again, no luck. I called and tried cancelling the contract, they promised it would be done and still nothing. I told the telephone bank telephonically to cancel the contract and assumed it got done until I saw in August' 12 that they were still deducting money even though the simcard NEVER got activated.
I did not return the phone because the shop assistant told me they can not take the phone without authorisation from Mtn. In Aug 2012 I realised that Mtn was still deducting R530 from my account. I cleared the money from my account and have now been blacklisted in spite of several attempts to explain to their lawyers.
