My phone was out of my handbag at a restaurant on Thursday the 9th of May. I was very upset, as it was a new iPhone 5 that I had only had for one month. Luckily, I was insured through Vodacom. However, when I phoned the call center on Thursday night to report the, I was informed that Vodacom insurance was not activated for my account. This terrified me, and I imagined having to pay the full amount (R9000) for a new phone! However, when I brought a copy of my contract to the Vodacom branch, they agreed that there had been a technical glitch and that I was entitled to insurance. Cheryl at the Craighall Vodacom shop in the Valley Center went out of her way to phone Vodacom insurance and convince them to accept my claim. I was given a new phone the very next day, and my sim card and old number were working by the end of the day on Friday, 10th of May. What started out as a terrible experience turned out to be a really positive one thanks to Vodacom and their excellent staff. Thank you!
