I had a rep from a telecomms co in Cape Town, MGEC sell me a Neotel system last year on June 6th. The representative was in Jhb and travelled back and forth to CT. I was told that any maintenance would be carried out by suppliers based in Johannesburg.
The rep would not let me make a copy of the contract as he was in a "big hurry" to leave and said he'd e-mail it to me as soon as he got back to the office. This never happened. I received after 3 months
I then found out that the entire deal had been misleading. I tried numerous times to contact MGEC (the Neotel vendor) to cancel the contract. Their phone would ring unanswered for up to two days. All of the people I initially dealt with have left. They said I'd have to deal with the "bank" Winelands Finance/Kasteel Rentals. Upon trying to contact this Winelands Finance/Kasteel Rentals, I could not find a telephone number. When I asked MGEC for contact details for this financial institution, I was always referred to the manager who refused to give me details.
In short, after never hearing from them, I have now received a summons from the Sheriff of the Court! I tried repeatedly to contact them over the last year! Now this!
