I have a top up contract with Cell C and was advised that I can do my upgrade at my earliest convenience. I went to the Westgate branch on 3 May and was informed that they have no phones in stock and will let me know when they will have. On Saturday I went back to the store to enquire whether any of the other branches have phones available, and I was informed by a lady, Kgomotso, that none of the branches in the west rand had any phones available. She would contact me as soon as it arrives. Today is 8 May and I have not received any calls from her updating me on the status of the stock. I subsequently phoned the customer care centre and was informed that the Cell C branches were franchises that are independently operated and they can not be held liable for the "no-stock" issue. This is truly a bad reflection on the overall Cell C brand in South Africa in my opinion.
