Change of Debit order date

Since mid February 2013 I have tried to change my debit order date from the 7th of each month to the first. The first time the person I spoke to was so arrogant I just hung up on her. Then I went into an MTN shop and the guy there's name was Benny who was very helpful. The date was changed and I was told it would go off on the 1st of April. It did not go through so I called again to find out what the minimum payment was to pay it manually and to change it again or at least find out if it was amended. The guy verified my bank details except that the account type was saving suppose to cheque. That was changed and I was again told it would go through on the first of the next month, which was May. Again it did not go through so I called yet again to verify that it is changed. They lady was helpful in telling me that it is going through on the 1st of June. Now, from the experience I encountered I first want to see that happen before I believe it. Is it so difficult to change a 7 to a 1? If I had to leave all the invoice until the actual date was change I would end up paying almost R1000 in one month. Ridiculous!!
