Complaint / review / scam report
I discovered on my last months bill that i was billied for sms charges to the cost of R30 per sms. I phoned MTN and much to my dissappointment i was told that MTN is not able to track or determine which device sent the sms. The only thing they can tell me is that the sms was sent from my number. So basically if someone steals or duplicates your number, you will be liable for whatever charges they make using your number. Well that is what i was told by the consultants anyway. I have incurred costs of an additional R180 last month, R100 this coming month and R250 to have my number changed. Either MTN is full of and dont wanna help me get to the bottom of this or MTN's security is really useless. I'd say please help me MTN but even i know you just gonna give me more excuses. Hopefully someone learns from my mistakes with MTN, its definately a costly lesson
