When your cell number has changed, you have to physically go to a branch to change the number for the RVN to be sent to. This takes time and is a major inconvenience, especially when other banking institutions can do this over the phone, subsequent to security checks. How does it make sense to be able to log into your own internet banking, but you're not allowed to change your own number? Absa can pass the buck by saying it's a security risk, but what if someone just my phone and I want to change the number, surely this is also a security risk! Forcing clients out of their office hours, into the branch, where one has to wait in a queue for a SIMPLE service, is not placing the customer first, it is a reason to move to another bank!
